Ross manufactures Ribbon Blenders used in the process industries for rapid, thorough and dust-free blending of powders, granules, pellets and other bulk solids. Available in many standard sizes from 1/2 to 1,000 cu. ft. working capacity, Ross Ribbon Blenders are built for a wide range of bulk densities and applications with many customizable features to meet any special or heavy-duty requirements. Shown is a Ribbon Blender Model 42N-270 with a maximum working capacity of 270 cu.ft. and a full holding capacity of 300 cu.ft. The stainless steel wetted parts are polished to 150-grit finish for easy cleanability. The gasketed three-piece cover, safety grating and pneumatically-operated 10” knife gate valve are all designed to facilitate convenient ingredient charging and dust-tight operation. The double ribbon agitator is precisely fabricated to produce a well-balanced axial and radial flow of powders while holding tightly-controlled clearances between the trough. The solid agitator shaft is driven to 20 rpm by a 100 HP TEFC motor. Unlike traditional belt-driven blenders which are prone to slippage and losses in efficiency, all Ross Ribbon Blenders are equipped with a direct drive gearmotor for more reliable performance and lower maintenance. With Ross-supplied controls, users receive a production-ready blender and benefit from electronic speed control, soft-start capabilities and overload protection without any wiring hassles. Ross offers many Ribbon Blenders from stock for immediate delivery as well as custom built units with an extensive selection of optional features including pneumatically-operated covers, bag dump station, lantern ring, spherical disc valve, high speed chopper, vacuum/pressure design, heating/cooling jacket, liquid spray bar, load cells and PLC Recipe System.
